1904: Pennsylvania Blind Association, originally the Committee for Jewish and Non-Jewish Blind
1911: Penny Lunch Program, later taken over by the Pittsburgh Public Schools
1929: Life's Work of Western PA, originally the League for the Handicapped
1942: USO Recreation Room, furnished and staffed for soldiers and sailors of WWII
1957: Renaissance Center, originally Council House, the first socialization program for discharged mental health patients in Allegheny County
1963: Head Start, co-founded and implemented with Pittsburgh Board of Education
1963: WICS - Women in Community Service - in cooperation with the National Council of Negro Women, National Council of Catholic Women, and Church Women United
1993: Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure, now an affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
1997: Southwestern Pennsylvania Silent Witness Initiative, domestic violence awareness, education and resource service
