The Children's Playrooms in the Courts provide at no cost a safe, stress-free environment for children while their parents/caregivers are attending to court matters. Take a video tour of our Playrooms here. (This movie requires QuickTime. QuickTime can be downloaded here.)

This is the only such service in the country run by a non-profit.

Rooms serve infants through teens. Each Room contains toys, games, books, crafts, computers and video games.

Children receive:

  • snacks
  • lunch
  • an age-appropriate book to take home and keep

A director, trained staff and volunteers operate the Rooms. All staff and volunteers have the required Pennsylvania clearances.

Allegheny County funds construction and provides ongoing financial support.

The rooms serve hundreds of children, both from families with court business and jurors, each month.
