Announces New Executive Director
PITTSBURGH, February 16, 2010 –The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW),
Pittsburgh Section is pleased to announce the appointment of Jodi C. Hirsh as
its new Executive Director. Ms.
Hirsh was selected following an extensive and thorough executive search
process.
Hirsh
comes to NCJW as a long-time community activist, non-profit management professional
and ardent supporter of social justice, individual rights, and freedoms. Most
recently, Hirsh served as the Vice President for Operations at Planned
Parenthood of Western PA (PPWP), where she managed the daily operations of the
agency. While at PPWP, she fought for womenÕs health care and reproductive
justice at the national and international level. Hirsh has served on a number of Boards of Directors,
including Pennsylvania Alliance for Democracy, Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania
Advocates/Planned Parenthood Association of Pennsylvania, Wilkinsburg Neighbors
United, the Project to End Human Trafficking, and the Three Rivers Community
Foundation.

justice—they are an integral part of providing the regionÕs women,
children and families with nonsectarian,
volunteer-driven services that vastly improve their quality of life. IÕm honored and excited to play this

service projects including: Suit
Yourself Voucher Program which provides free business clothes to
individuals re-entering the workforce, ChildrenÕs
Rooms in the Courts which are safe, fun environments for young children
while their parents/caregivers tend to family court matters, Silent Witness Initiative that raises
awareness of domestic violence, Pic-A-Bag which
provides essential supplies to children who are removed from their homes and Batch Packs (with support from Steeler Charlie Batch) which provides new school supplies
to children in need.
