NCJW Pittsburgh Section Projects: Services to the Elderly
Our home, Anathan House, originally was donated to house NCJW's Council
Lounge for Older People and Squirrel Hill's senior adult program. NCJW
continues its legacy of service to the aging in Pittsburgh. Our Services
to the Elderly committee conducts several important projects including:
- Residential Profile Project Interviews with residents of Weinberg
Village residential facilities to provide information on their doors for
visitors and caregivers.
- Annual Fall Program, frequently in collaboration with AgeWell, a
collaboration of the Jewish Family & Children's Service, the Jewish
Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh and the Jewish Association on
Aging NCJW. Past topics have included "Medicare's New Coverage for Prescription
Drugs" and "A Looming Crisis: Election Focus on Issues of Importance to
Seniors." Programs are offered at no cost.
- Articles in each NCJW Bulletin (newsletter) addressing the issue of
aging and the needs of the elderly.
