NCJW Pittsburgh Section Projects: Children's Literacy
NCJW's history of working with the Pittsburgh Public Schools dates back
to our founding of Adult Education in 1894 and includes our initiation
of the first Penny Lunch program in 1911 and Head Start in 1963.
Today a group of volunteers provides supplemental learning services to
children and teachers at several area elementary schools, including
Linden Academy and Colfax Accelerated Learning Academy.
