NCJW Pittsburgh Section Projects: Pic-A-Bag
Since we discovered that children removed suddenly from their homes by
the courts and placed in foster or medical care were leaving with their
few possessions in garbage bags, NCJW has been providing duffel bags
with necessities and comfort items.

Started in 1998, Pic-A-Bag has expanded and now reaches children through
Children and Youth Services, the Homeless Children's Education Fund,
Intermediate Units in Allegheny and surrounding counties, and Family and
Juvenile Court.
This fall, we teamed with Pittsburgh Steeler Charlie Batch and the Best
of the Batch Foundation to provide "NCJW BatchPacks" filled with needed
school supplies to children at Barrett Elementary School in Homestead.
