For more than a century, National Council of Jewish Women, Pittsburgh Section has been at the forefront of social change—championing the needs of women, children, and families—while taking proactive measures on issues impacting child welfare, women’s rights, and reproductive freedom. And now, with progressive ideals facing their greatest challenge in a generation, it’s even more important that courageous, compassionate women and men find a place to come together and take a stand. NCJW embraces women and men of diverse backgrounds, thinkers and doers who want to engage at local, national, and international levels.
NCJW Pittsburgh Section continues to fill a unique place among the service organizations in Pittsburgh as the only Jewish women’s organization dedicated to grassroots advocacy and community service. Over the last 120 years, the strength of NCJW, locally and nationally, has remained our unique ability to identify the current needs of the vulnerable in our community and to respond in an intelligent and pointed manner.
What unifies our members and supporters around the country is a belief in what NCJW stands for—the belief that progressive ideals put into meaningful action can improve the world; that our passion, collective voices, and efforts will make this belief possible.
You have only to look at our history to see what a tremendous impact we have made. As we continue to work towards a better future, NCJW needs you–your time, talents and financial support–more than ever.
