After more than 23 years of volunteering in the Children’s Rooms in the Courts, Joan Levy is not done yet, and we are all thankful for that! Joan has decided to step down as the Chair of Volunteers for the Rooms, but she won’t be leaving her regular Thursday morning volunteer slot.
Joan has volunteered with the Children’s Rooms since it was just one room on the 6th Floor of the City-County Building and completely volunteer operated. Today NCJW operates three rooms with a staff of nine and twenty volunteers. This year the Rooms benefited from 1,000 hours of volunteer service. As Joan exemplified, our volunteers are the heart of the Rooms.
Joan, thank you again for all you have done and continue to do. Throughout these years, you have served as a guide, mentor, and friend to all. We really couldn’t have done it without you and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
