Bar Gissin will reveal how her nonprofit organization, The Movement for Public Journalism, promotes Israeli journalism that involves and serves the public. Learn how her experience applies to American journalism, where the rise of social media, cuts to newsroom budgets, and criticism from government have left many wondering if the Fourth Estate is crumbling.
The Movement for Public Journalism is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization whose goal is to create quality journalism that belongs to the public, serves only the public, and involves the public in its work.
The Movement does not take a political position on public issues or promote a worldview but tries to create partnerships among people of diverse backgrounds and worldviews, by giving them tools to understand and influence reality.
RSVP by Friday, March 8, 2019 to Samantha Dye at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Drinks and dessert will be provided. Please bring your own bagged lunch.
