The Center for Women has reached 114 women in transition since August: 85 through women’s workshops; 4 in the LAW Program; and 25 who received information and referrals to other community programs. We are now ready to roll out our Mentoring and Internship programs. We are recruiting mentees, mentors, interns, and internship hosts. Despite the wintery weather bringing a chill to the air, the community service work at NCJW is definitely heating up! We are excited to once again participate in Mitzvah Day this year on Christmas Day, and we look forward to having 20 volunteers assist with our Pic-a-Bag project. After more than 23 years of volunteering in the Children’s Rooms in the Courts, Joan Levy is not done yet, and we are all thankful for that! Joan has decided to step down as the Chair of Volunteers for the Rooms, but she won’t be leaving her regular Thursday morning volunteer slot. Joan has volunteered with the Children’s Rooms since it was just one room on the 6th Floor of the City-County Building and completely volunteer operated.
