All sales, community outreach, and partnerships support the National Council of Jewish Women Pittsburgh’s mission to support increased equity through the empowerment of women. Thriftique directly supports NCJW’s work advocating for reproductive justice, preserving democracy, and inclusive and equitable workplaces. 

In our 8,400 sq foot shop in the heart of Lawrenceville, Thriftique sells high-quality, new and gently used clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, home goods, art, books, and furniture at affordable prices.


JOB DETAILS

Thriftique is hiring a full-time Store Manager to join our small but mighty, hardworking, mission-minded, customer service team. 

The Store Manager works in coordination with the Retail Director in managing daily operations of Thriftique. This role is responsible for understanding and implementing NCJW policies and procedures, scheduling and training staff and volunteers, managing customer relations, meeting sales goals and providing exemplary customer service.

Must have weekend availability. 

$50,000 salary. 40 hrs/week. Paid Time Off. Paid holidays. Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance. STD/LTD Insurance. Employee discount.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Manage all aspects of daily operations of Thriftique in coordination with Retail Director

  • Maintain a full time schedule which includes working weekend days as scheduled

  • Supervise, train, and lead a cooperative, collaborative and successful sales and processing team including regular communications with staff and supervisor via email and floor meetings

  • Support all store functions as needed including floor support, processing and activities related to events/promotions

  • Create, maintain, and distribute staff, volunteer and intern schedules to maximize productivity and quality customer service

  • Communicate effectively with all staff, volunteers, interns and other stakeholders of different backgrounds, identities and ages

  • Oversee volunteer and internship programs

  • Acts as the redundancy to floor staff and cover vacancies as needed

  • Oversee merchandising of the sales floor applying best practices to maximize sales and maintain safety adhering to ADA guidelines

  • Generate all required reports including daily sales recap, HR forms, payroll, voucher logs, intern program and inventory and deliver to Retail Director in a timely and accurate manner

  • Develop and maintain up to date SOPs related to all store operations including processing of donated goods, opening and closing procedures, LP protocol, pull schedule, and record keeping

  • Conduct annual check-in and goal setting activities with direct reports following NCJW PGH standards and procedures

  • Coordinate and schedule truck pick-ups and drop-offs

  • Demonstrate commitment to education and professional development; understand and practice current trends in retail/resale industry and technology

  • Create and execute a robust and effective digital marketing strategy in collaboration with Retail and NCJW PGH communications team

  • Manage time and resources efficiently

  • Provide staff with resources needed to perform duties at their highest level

  • Promote NCJW PGH retail in the community

  • Demonstrate strong leadership by displaying exemplary adaptability, dependability, and the ability to give and accept feedback in a manner that upholds the cultural values of NCJW PGH.

  • Know, support, and carry out the mission, philosophy, and objectives of NCJW PGH and its pillars of impact

  • Attend all relevant Department and NCJW PGH organizational meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of 5 years retail management experience, preferably in the resale, nonprofit sector

  • Ability to demonstrate exemplary customer service, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with GSuite, Clover,  Asana and PayCor

  • Demonstrated experience in retail sales, managing products and providing customer service

  • Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse teams

  • Knowledge of retail merchandising practices

  • Knowledge of social media marketing tactics and proficiency with all relevant social media platforms

  • Experience in customer service solving problem and working in a fast-paced environment

  • Scheduling flexibility is required, must be able to work evenings and weekends

DESIRED SKILLS: 

  • High EQ with strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and instructions, basic financial reports, and procedure manuals

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including use of a calculator to calculate percentages and ratios

  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 4-6 hours; and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. safely

  • Stoop, bend, kneel and crouch on a frequent basis

  • Climb a ladder and balance on an occasional basis
